The notion of being able to freeze a moment in time eternally - an expression, an action, a sight of beauty or to capture the vibrancy and hues of colour, shadows and light, shapes and forms – was profoundly intriguing. This fascination has developed into a fervent passion.
My predilection for photography started at an early age when I received my first Kodak camera using the 110 film-cartridges. In my early teens I purchased my first SLR, a Ricoh. A few years later I upgraded to a Canon and have been using Canon gear ever since. For many years I shot 35mm film and slides and in 2004 I made the switch to digital. I started out with a Canon 10D and followed this line and currently shoot with a 30D. Most recently, I have added a full frame Canon 5D to my equipment.
Travelling has always been a substantial part of my life and my desire to immortalize my adventures with photography has steadily flourished. From landscapes, city scapes, wildlife, sports events, culture, candid shots to abstracts, my photography is a reflection of how I perceive the world. Equipment & Workflow
I have just recently replaced all my gear as it was unfortunately stolen on a recent trip to India.
I have been using Canon gear for over a decade and in 2004 I decided to go digital with the Canon 10D. This camera was replaced with the 20D later in 2004 and in 2006 I added a Canon 30D to my photography equipment. In addition to my 20D and 30D, I have a Canon 300D as an emergency backup.
I have replaced the 30D with another 30D and the 20D has been upgraded to a 5D.

My standard gear set up consists of the 20D with the EF-S 17-85mm lens and the 30D with the EF 100-400mm lens. This setup minimizes the amount of times I need to change lenses and thus reduces the amount of dust that settles on the sensors. I carry the EF 100mm macro and the EF 50mm lenses with me, but use them sparingly.
My light gear set up consits of the 30D with the EF-S17-85mm lens and the EF 70-300mm DO. This is a very compact set-up which gives me a nice focal range.
Digital Workflow
With the advent of digital photography, my workflow needed to be revised completely! On my website, there is a succint description of my digital workflow, which gives an intruction to the various topics to consider: importing files, file naming strategy, folder hierarchy, image database - IMatch Photools, archiving and storage.
